Kishwaukee Bible Church began in 1993 as an extension of Grace Church of DuPage in Warrenville, IL.
A group of members from Grace Church, traveling from the DeKalb/Sycamore area to Warrenville, began asking the elders if they would consider planting a church. In 1993, a group was established to begin the task of laying the foundation for a church. The first church service of Kishwaukee Bible Church was September 11, 1993.
KBC has met in a variety of places, beginning at Dr. Stan Brandon’s home in DeKalb, then moving to the Art Building at Northern Illinois University. In 1995, KBC purchased the building at 425 Fisk Avenue in DeKalb. When the congregation began to outgrow the Fisk building, KBC gathered for a brief time at Bethany Community Church (now Bethany Road Bible Church) – DeKalb). In 2007, KBC began meeting for Sunday services at Cornerstone Christian Academy while still using the Fisk building for office space. KBC began renting office space in downtown Sycamore (201 W. State St.) in 2011, which was then purchased in 2013.
We are thankful for all that the Lord has done and continues to do.
