Czech Republic

Milan serves through Josiah Venture, a missions organization committed to training young leaders in Eastern Europe to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church.

In 1970, Milan Michalko was born into a Christian family in Ostrava, Czech Republic – the city where he still lives today. His parents were very active believers, which made for quite an interesting childhood, considering the then-communist government’s stance on organized religion! Milan first studied to be a plumber and later ran his own printing and advertising company for 10 years.

In 2008, Milan headed up the Exit 316 Tour ministry of Josiah Venture, and then went on to be the director of Josiah Venture in Czech for 7 years.

Three years ago, he established CityChurch.cz, a platform for new church plants. He also continues to work for Josiah Venture on the project New Wineskins and Local Church Innovation. In 1990, Milan married his wife, Zdenka, and they now have four children: Markéta, Tomáš, Andrea and Petra, as well as four grandchildren.
